Try This Homemade Cake for Dogs!

Is your furry friend’s birthday around the corner? Wondering if you should order or cook something? Try this easy recipe for homemade cake for dogs! They might not know you made it but they will love it regardless.

Ingredients for Homemade Cake for Dogs

For the Cake:

– 150 grams of whole wheat or oat flour

– 1 egg

– 50 grams of unsweetened peanut butter

– 50 grams of plain yogurt (unsweetened)

– 50 grams of carrot, finely grated

– 50 grams of banana, mashed

– 1 tablespoon of coconut oil

For the Frosting:

– 100 grams of plain yogurt (unsweetened)

– 2 tablespoons of peanut butter (make sure it doesn’t contain xylitol, which is toxic to dogs)

– Banana slices for decoration

 

Instructions

1. Preheat the oven to 180°C (350°F) and grease a small cake pan with a bit of coconut oil.

2. In a mixing bowl, whisk the egg, peanut butter, plain yogurt, and coconut oil until well combined.

3. Add the finely grated carrot and mashed banana to the wet ingredients. Mix thoroughly.

4. In another bowl, whisk together the rice flour or oat flour.

5. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients and mix until a smooth batter forms.

6. Pour the batter into the greased cake pan and spread it evenly.

7. Bake in the preheated oven for about 25-30 minutes or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.

8. Let the cake cool completely before removing it from the pan.

9. For the frosting, mix the plain yogurt and peanut butter until smooth.

10. Once the cake is completely cool, spread the yogurt-peanut butter frosting over the top.

11. Decorate the cake with banana slices to add an extra touch of paw-someness!

P.S. – The recipe includes oats & peanut butter. A lot of dogs are known to be allergic to it. Please check before you feed them!
